Do you offer any uptime guarantee? Yes! Excel, guarantees 99.9% server uptime. Excel will provide your mission-critical data with the ultimate in network performance, security, bandwidth management, and Internet connections.

Will Excel Web Hosting register a domain name for me? Yes! We register your domain name for FREE with certain plans or for a small fee otherwise. We will do so after we receive payment for your first months service. We only register .com .net .org domains but this usually takes anywhere from 5-15 days to go through. We do not register any other domain extensions at this time, but you may register your own domain and we will provide you with the information needed to do so.

Do I have to pay InterNIC for my domain? Yes, and no. You now have a choice on what company to use to register your domain name. We used to only use InterNIC but now we recommend Namecheap.com. There are a number of other registrars available as well. If we register with your domain for you there will be an additional charge.

I already have a domain, can I move it to your server? YES! Your domain is yours and you can transfer it to us. There is no charge by InterNIC for moving a domain. Simply point your domain to our servers by updating the nameserver info for your domain with the following:

Can I have http://whatever.yourdomain.com"? Sure! Depending on the plan you choose will determine the amount of sub-domains that you can add to you domain account. . If you want you may have an additional FTP login username and password for sub-domain as well. You may also have an additional email account with a separate POP account also..

What if I need more POP Email accounts? No problem! If you need more POP email or FTP accounts than what comes with your package you can simply upgrade your account or a small one time charge depending on how many.

What about email? You receive unlimited email aliases (anything@YourDomain.com). You receive depending on your account , multiple POP email accounts, mailing list, Spam Controls, Forwards, etc

Do we support Frontpage? We offer the latest FrontPage 2000' Extensions on our servers. We provide basic technical support for getting started with Frontpage but we do not provide advanced support. If you request frontpage extensions to be installed then we DO NOT RECOMMEND using FTP as well. If you are wanting to use an FTP client you may create your site with the frontpage editor but then upload your site through standard FTP.

Do we support Streaming Audio? We do not run a Real Streaming server, however there is a second option.
1) Take the .rm or .ra file you have created, and upload it to the server (Make sure you upload it in BINARY mode).
2) Create a text file with the full URL to the .rm or .ra file on one line inside of the text file and save it as <filename>.ram (Replace <filename> with the name of the streaming file you would like to use.
3) Upload the .ram text file to the server (Make sure you upload it in ASCII mode).
4) Go to the URL of the .ram file
(Example: http://my-domain.com/streaming_file.ram) in your web browser.
5) RealPlayer or RealOne should open up and starting playing the streaming file.
This should do what you would like. It cannot stream live events, only prerecorded media. Please remember, audio and video streaming will count towards your monthly bandwidth, and can use an excessive amount if not monitored correctly.

Do we have access to a control panel? But of course! You may add features to your website such as email settings, counters, guestbooks, chatrooms, forms, stats programs, add domains, add sub domains, etc. This is a password protected directory where the control panel resides. Once your domain has been activated you may access your own control panel at http://www.yourdomain.com/cpanel

How will my page be called by web browser? With all domain accounts anyone can access your page by typing http://www.yourdomain.com or http://yourdomain.com

How long will it take before I can start Uploading to my site?As soon as we receive your account info & payment, we will activate your account so you can get started. (1-6 hours)

How long till my domain name is active? This usually takes anywhere from 1-3 days. You will be able however to start uploading your pages within hours to your directory. You can also access your website via an address such as :http://66.246.42.114/~yourusername until domain registration is completed.
Transfers of domain accounts do take longer than new registrations. It all depends on your contact information with InterNIC (Network Solutions) . If they have valid email contact info in there database the transfer will go through much faster but if they do not we will have to fax you a form to place on company letterhead before any transfer will go through. We work with you to make this procedure as quick as possible.

How soon do we reply to emailed questions? Guaranteed within 12 hours! Most often within just 1-4 hours.

Do you host adult sites? NO PORN ! NO ADULT !

Can I send “Bulk E-mail, SPAM, Etc.”? NO, We cannot be connected to this type of activity. Here is the reason: Many ISPs will block mail connections from servers that are known to deliver spam. This creates problems with autoresponders. So please just don’t send spam!

What if I go over my disk space allotment? We do set quotas on our servers so if you happen to use your disk space you will then have the choice of buying more space or changing plans.

Is the server ever down? We have an impressive 99.9% up time so your site is reachable. Like all providers our servers must be taken down from time to time for this or that,equipment fails, and things happen. We do everything we can to prevent down time. We also do system as well as user backups of all data!

What kind of help can you give me? Were here to help! Just Ask! We understand all this web stuff may be a little to much for most people out there. Remember we will not only help you with any tech questions you may have, but if you want your company on the web and can't make your own webpage, we will help you FREE. Will can also design your whole website at a very good rate. If you are designing or wanting to design a high end interactive website we are also available for help including help on setting up cgi scripts. We do however charge a minimal fee to install your cgi scripts if you do not have any knowledge in this area. If your script is a shopping cart or any other script that is complicated our normal charge to install is based on $100.00 an hour. There are however many pre-installed scripts with every account.

Does Excel Web hosting Allow Chatrooms? Sure! Chatrooms tend to be hogs on bandwidth but as long as the script is written well then you are more than welcome to use it. Do remember that if you use up 50% of a servers resources then we will recommend you move to a dedicated server

Do we offer custom cgi scripts? Sure do! We have guestbooks, logging, stats scripts, chat, bulletin board, plus many more. We offer Fantastico V2 with every plan. This includes the following auto install scripts along with lots more: phpnuke, postnuke, xoops, phpwebsite, invisionboard,phpbb2, xmbforum,oscommerce,etc.
